Boogie Wipes Review & Giveaway!!!

Luke and I both have pretty bad allergies. And, as you all know he goes to daycare everyday, so in the winter he gets hit with colds on a regular basis.
With every single cold that Luke gets, he gets a runny nose. And of course, he hates to have his nose wiped. He will run away from and when I catch him to wipe his nose he will cry.....which only makes the drainage worse. He didn't mind having his nose wiped when we tried out Boogie Wipes.

"Boogie Wipes are made with saline to dissolve boogies (mucus) caused by the common cold, allergies or otherwise booger-filled kid moments.  Extra soft, alcohol, phthalate and paraben free, Boogie Wipes are available in Great Grape, Fresh Scent, Magic Menthol and Simply Unscented.  Recommended by pediatricians as a gentle, effective alternative to a dry tissue."
I love that these wipes are nice and soft, which makes wiping Luke's little nose so much better. When they have a constant running nose, even the softest of tissues can make it hurt. The fact that these are made with saline makes it easier and quicker to get his nose wiped. Luke's nose was running pretty bad from his allergies and one swipe with the Boogie Wipes got more off his nose than a regular tissue would have. I also love that these come in a recloseable soft container, which is great to throw in the diaper bag. Luke didn't even mind wiping his own nose with Boogie Wipes

Boogie Wipes is currently running a special promotion featuring their friend Boogs! You can receive him by simply visiting their website, printing out the form, attaching 3 UPC's and mailing it in!

Pepper Spray Keychain Review & Giveaway!!!

I feel it is very important for a woman to protect themselves. If your like me you feel safer knowing that you are prepared to defend yourself, if the need would ever arise. I feel safer knowing that I have my Pepper Spray Keychain from Wholesale Keychains in my purse!

"Pepper spray enables you to defend yourself while keeping a safe distance from an attacker. A one second burst to the face will cause temporary blindness, choking, coughing, and nausea-bringing the attacker to his knees. The active ingredient in our spray is Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.), commonly referred to as red pepper."

This Pepper Spray comes with it's own leather case, which you have your choice of color!!

These keychains are not too bulky for your keychain, but large enough that you can find them in your purse if in an emergency.

The pepper spray can be sprayed while it is still inside it's case, so no worries of having to remove it from the case when you are in a hurry. It's easy to use, all you have to do is turn the safety latch, aim and press.

I'm glad I was given the opportunity to review this keychain. I love knowing that I can protect myself if the need should arise. I feel it is important for women to be prepared, and having this keychain has certaintely given me a sense of security, although I hope I never have to use it.

Zibits Miniature Remote Control Robots Review!!

Luke is loving this new toy that he was lucky enough to get the chance to review. They are called Zibits!

"Welcome to the world of Zibits mini-r/c robots! Combining R/C with 12 collectable miniature robot designs, Zibits are getting ready to take the world by storm."

"At a size of just more than two inches, Zibits are brought to life withthe touch of a button that move the robots several directions, including a full 360 degree rotation. They also come fully equipped with incredible robot sounds and lights giving them each either own character."

There are over 12 designs in 2 categories: Junk Bits, Tech Bits and Urban Bits

Luke was excited when his Zibit arrived in the mail. As soon as I opened it he was saying "bot...bot" He had no problem learning how to control his Zibit with the remote, even though these are targeted for ages 8 to 18. He especially loved making his "bot" go in circles! He has played with his Zibit a lot since it arrived and he hasn't tired of it yet. My nieces and nephews have even enjoyed playing with it. These retail at $9.99 and are sold at Toys R Us. I believe that these would make great stocking stuffers!! Check them out HERE!!

Here is Luke playing with his Zibit

My Secret Circle Review!!!

My Secret Circle is designed with girls in mind!!

Create your very own profile with the All-About-Me pages with a Diva Designer avatar tool
The online journal can be kept private or public for friends to read
Chat with all your friends through instant messaging or buy the separate headset to voice chat
Other features include games and an extensive photo section allowing girls to upload photos, add text and decor and create slideshows

My Secret Circle™ is the first-ever secure social networking world designed for girls 8-12 and their internet-cautious parents.
Invisible to the online world, My Secret Circle™ let’s younger girls create perfectly private communities with friends, while avoiding the advertising and strangers present on other social networking sites.
Within the My Secret Circle™ world, your child can create their social circles. The My Secret Circle Access Key give your child access to journal, instant message, play games and photo share. Your child can also have access to unlimited online voice-chat with the My Secret Circle Voice-Chat Headset™.

I was sent the BFF pack to review. My nieces gave me some help with this review. Remember those best friend necklaces, where it was a broken heart and you kept one and gave the other to your best friend? Well, I believe this is the new age version of those.
I love the concept of this. I love that girls can have a safe way to chat online. My nieces are 10 and 12. The youngest ones favorite feature was creating her avatar and creating her All-About-Me page. The oldest one loved the photo editing and slideshow feature!

How is My Secret Circle™ secure?
My Secret Circle is secure in two ways:

1.
Utilizing proprietary technology, the My Secret Circle Access Key™ contains an embedded code that is recognized by My Secret Circle’s™ private browser when connected to your computer. Because this unique code is located in a hardware solution; no personal information, registration or login is ever needed—and no one from the outside world can seek your child out.
Also while entered into the My Secret Circle world— the internet navigation bar is completely stripped away—meaning your child can never navigate outside of the circle to other websites.
2. My Secret Circle™ users must invite and exchange unique charms codes with real-life friends. My Secret Circle Friend Code™ Generator generates a unique 12 digit number. This number (Friend Code) must be exchanged through our invitation system.
The invitation system allows your child to print out her Friend Code and create an envelope to trade her Friend Code in person with a real friend of her choice. In order to become “friends,” each girl must own a My Secret Circle Access Key™ and each girl must exchange a Friend Code. Once your child has exchanged a 12 digit number (Friend Code) with her friend, she must upload it into the “Friend Section” of the My Secret Circle. After inputting this code you will see that your real-life friend has been accepted to access your secret circle.
The 12 digit number (Friend Code) is only good for one time use for one friend. It can never be reused by other non-approved friends. Anytime your child would like to add another “friend” to her circle, she must generate a new Friend Code, and her friend must own the access key.
Unlike other social network or gaming site, you—as a parent—can know who your child is communicating with at all times.

Are there any additional subscriptions or fees required?
My Secret Circle Access Keys and My Secret Circle Voice-Chat Head sets are purchased at most major retail stores. No personal information, additional subscriptions, or additional fees are ever required.
I recommend this to anyone who has pre-teen girls. They will love this, especially the BFF Pack, where they can give one to their best friend to use too!

I received the My Secret Circle BFF Pack for review purposes only. No other compensation was received and these are my own honest opinions.

Can't miss toy website Ebeanstalk.com~Review!

Looking for toys for your kids can be overwhelming! Ebeanstalk is a toy website that knows just how many toys are out there for you to sort through.  They have a team of moms that have picked out the best of the best to provide great baby toys, toys for 1 year olds, toys for 2 year olds, and toys for all other ages!  Ebeanstalk also has a panel of child experts that have matched each toy to the specific age of your child, so you know that your child is getting the most out of playtime!
Ebeanstalk even has toys divided by "girl toys" and "boy toys" as well, which makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for. If your looking for a toy for a two year old boy, you don't want to be searching through pages of doll babies.
I love that every toy you order comes with a free instruction card which lists the developmental skills the toy will help your child master as well as play ideas and why their experts decided to pick that toy! Their experts have hand picked the toys that Ebeanstalk.com offers!
Ebeanstalk even has a milestone chart that tells you what your child should be doing for their age! And if you sign up for their newsletter, you will save 15% on any purchase in 2010 and you will receive advice from their experts and promotional offerings!!
While browsing their site, I found a lot of toys that Luke would love! With the holiday's right around the corner, I'm already searching for gift ideas for him!
Luke would absolutely love this Parking Garage!!!
He would play with this for hours and hours!!

He would love playing pretend with this!
I love this site and I definitely got lost looking through page after page of exciting choices for Luke!  I love that the site is divided into categories, which made it very easy for me to find exactly what I was looking for and that each toy is educational AND fun!
Head over and check out Ebeanstalk.com now!!
I will receive a toy to review as compensation for writing this site review. However, these opinions are my own honest opinions.

Mommyhood Monday!!!

I wanted to give you guys an update on the potty training and I had a couple more questions.

First off, let me say that Luke is doing extremely well with potty training. I guess being his mommy I always see a baby when I look at him, so I was thinking that there was no way he is going to understand how to pee in the potty, he won't get it, he's just a baby you know! Well, he gets it!!! I guess he's not a baby any more (sniff sniff)
We have went shopping, visited his cousins, played, went for walks and he has only had one accident since last monday!! Yay Luke!! He even stops playing to tell me he has to go to the potty. I am so proud of him...I can't believe how well he has done with this!

For my first question...I was just wondering when you guys started putting undies on your little ones at night? I'm still putting a pull up on Luke at night, most of the time it is dry in the morning and he will pee in the potty....but...he knows he can pee and poop in the pull up and if he feels like it, he will. Everyone I have talked to has told me just to keep putting the pull ups on him at night....but I just kinda feel like....why wait? I think the only reason they aren't dry every morning is because he knows he can just pee in them.
And I did put undies on him one night and after telling everyone I did so and them telling me they wouldn't have, I went ahead and put a pull up on him when he woke up at 11:30 that night and peed a lot in the potty, I chickened out. Why is it that I always second guess myself? If I make a decision and someone doesn't agree with it...I second guess myself. And further more...why does everyone feel the need to chime in their opinions??? Ok, enough of the rambling...

My second question might be a toughie (Warning:Lots of #2 talking coming up...)
Luke doesn't like to poop in the potty. But he also doesn't like to poop in his undies either. He holds it. Like all day! He will tell me he has to poop, then as soon as his butt hits the potty..he jumps right back up and says he's all done. This will continue all day, sometimes he will want to sit on the potty every couple of minutes, but then won't do anything. Then he will get to the point where he can not hold it any longer..he will run around the house...crying because he has to go, then throw a fit when I put him on the potty. When it gets to this point, I have to make him sit on the potty until he poops, once he does he is fine. It is almost like he is scared. He sobs when he has to poop. I mean you can tell he is scared about it. Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, do you have any tips or suggestions for me. When he finally does go, I make a huge deal out of it, clapping and singing and things, but the next time he is still scared. I don't want him holding it and making himself sick.

So, sorry for all the potty talk, and the rambling, but this is what is consuming our lives right now. Please offer any advice you may have on this!!

Losing It Thursday!!!

It's that time again.

Here is last weeks weigh in

And here is this weeks weigh in

So, just shy of a pound loss. And I'm at this weight for what seems like the millionth time. I keep losing and gaining the same pound or so. I feel like I'm never going to see 189. I know I'm not giving it my all, like I should be and if I want to be even close to my goal by next summer, I need to get it in gear.
Why does it seem like whenever you are on a diet everyone tries to give you food? Or it seems like everything gets in the way of you doing what you know you should be doing? At least I know that's what happens with me. And boy they weren't kidding when they said baby weight was the hardest to get off......but wait....do they still call it baby weight even though it has been over two years??? LOL!

Join in on the linky!!!!

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review and Giveaway!!!

As you all know, I have been trying to eat healthier...as well as get Luke to eat better too. This isn't always easy, but everything that is good isn't always easy. The easiest way is to replace something bad for you with something that is better for you, and preferably something that you won't notice.

That is what I found when I tried out Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil.

A little about Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions:

"This Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil. This coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw and surrounding areas from organic coconuts. Coconuts are used fresh (within 24-48 hours of harvest) from small family farms on Mt. Banahaw and other rural places in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines. Only the highest quality coconuts are hand-picked from each harvest. The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world! Testing done in independent laboratories reveals higher levels of phenolic antioxidants than other coconut oils. The fresh coconut meat is shredded (wet milled), and then cold-pressed using the water from inside the coconuts to make coconut milk. The milk is then allowed to sit for about half a day, while the oil naturally separates from the heavier water. The oil is then filtered from the curds (coconut solids). No chemical or high-heat treatment is used, and this oil contains no trans fatty acids. We do NOT mass produce this oil. It is made by families who are coconut farmers using old-fashioned traditional methods that have been used in the Philippines for hundreds of years. Our coconut trees and family producers are certified organic according to strict USDA standards. The families who produce the oil are also trained according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and re-certified each year. This high-grade Virgin Coconut Oil has a long shelf life due to the high antioxidant properties. The Gold Label standard is our highest standard for Virgin Coconut Oil"
I was pretty excited to try out this oil. I am up for trying anything that is better for our health. I searched their recipe's (which they have a ton) and finally settled on trying out the Penne Pasta Salad.
We had this for dinner on Saturday

This was sooo yummy and easy to make. I used the coconut oil to saute the peppers in. The first thing I noticed as soon as I opened the jar of oil was the smell. It smelled so good!!! Some foods that you cook leave a bad smell in the house, but this left my house smelling so good!
I didn't notice any coconut taste to it either. I will be making this again, as it was easy, quick and healthy!!
You can get this recipe and other recipe's using the coconut oil HERE. There are lots of yummy sounding recipe's there.
You don't have to have a special recipe to use this oil either. You can just use it in place of your regular oil in anything you make, even desserts! And, you can drizzle it in your smoothies as well. Don't forget that every healthy diet needs healthy fats!!

Funky Monkey Snacks Review & Giveaway~1 Weeks Worth of Snacks!!!

It has been such a chore to find healthy snacks that Luke will eat. I do not want him eating a bunch of junk all day, and I want him to learn healthy eating habits now, so that when he is older it will be second nature.

We got the chance to try out Funky Monkey Snacks!!!

A fresh-tasting, freeze dried snack that delivers great flavor and fruit that crunches!!!

We were sent one of each flavors of Funky Monkey Snacks to try out!!

Funky Monkey freeze-dries slices and pieces of real fruit using a propietary process to lock in the taste, smell and nutrients of freshly-picked fruit while creating a fun satisfying snack.
The first thing that I like about these snacks is that they are 100% natural and 100% fruit. No added sugar, and no artificial flavors or preservatives.
I also love that each bag of snacks is equal to 3 servings of fruit!!!
It doesn't get much easier than that to get your fruit in!
Now, I have to admit that try as I might, I could not get Luke to try these. He is very picky and it's all about what the food looks like to him. If it doesn't look "right" to him, then he won't eat it. It's the same with pizza, cookies, etc so it's not just healthy snacks.
So, since I couldn't get him to try them....I ate them....I ate them all!! They are so good. Very crunchy and so tasty! These are good for your diet, and like I said earlier, they are an easy way to get your fruits in! I loved snacking on these without guilt.
They are a quick snack and I love that you can take them with you. You can just pop a bag in your purse or diaper bag and have a healthy snack on hand! I think my favorite was the Pink Pineapple which is pineapple with guava or the Applemon which is apple with cinnamon.
Another plus about these snacks is that you can find them in stores near you!! They are sold at Target, Kroger and Whole Foods, just to mention a few. Or you can order them online!
If I only had one suggestion, it would be that they would make the bags recloseable, just in case you don't finish them within one sitting which may be the case when feeding these to younger children.

Want your own Funky Monkey Snacks???

They have agreed to give one of my readers a 1 weeks supply of Funky Monkey Snacks!!!
That's one of each flavor!!!

Mandatory Entry:
Visit Funky Monkey Snacks and come back here and tell me which flavor you would like to try!

Secret Storage Books Review!!

Have you ever saw those books in movies, where the center is cut out and they hide things in the middle? Ever want one of those for yourself???

Secret Storage Books are BookBoxes. Real, discarded books that have been handcrafted into beautiful boxes by hollowing out the pages!! They are handmade from discarded books purchased from charities and recyclers.

Do They glue every page? Yes, but not one at a time. The books are soaked in baths of glue to create a solid block of papier-mache. Holes are then machined out of the paper block. And all remnants are recycled.

Security In Plain Sight!!

I was given the opportunity to review their Alice in Wonderland secret storage book.

I love that these books are being repurposed. The book itself is beautiful and looks nice sitting on my shelf. You can not tell by looking at it that it is hollowed out and it just looks like a beautiful book sitting on my shelf. The craftsmanship on these are amazing!

These books are not just for security either. They have lots of other uses, like:
Suprise packaging (I really like this idea)
Coffee Table Organizer
Remote Control Garage
Cell Phone Caddy
Children's Treasure Box (I would have loved one of these when I was younger)
Desk Organizer
Travelling Companion
Camera Storage
Recipe File
Candy Box
Humidor
Keys
Diaries
Photo's Prescriptions

I love all the different uses for these books! How unique would it be to have one of these sitting on your coffee table to hold the remotes? It would be a great conversation starter!

These come in small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large and odd sizes. They even have stacks of books too!! You also get to choose which title you want, and they have 52 pages to choose from, so your sure to find something you like.

These are such unique storage boxes, and I love mine!

Check out Secret Storage Books to buy your own!!

Mommyhood Monday!!!

Hi!!! It's the start of a new week and I have to say that I feel great!!

How about some mommy chit chat?? Feel free to chime in at any time!!
First, I want to tell you guys how proud I am of Luke. We stayed home all weekend and Luke wore his big boy undies!!!! He did so well, at first he acted like he was going to get in trouble for peeing in the potty, but once he did and I danced and sang a song about it, he was fine. He has only had 2 accidents in his big boy undies since Saturday afternoon!!! And he wore them today to daycare. I can't wait to get off of work so I can pick him up and see how he did today!! I can't believe how big he his getting, he is growing up way too fast....but he looks so cute in his undies!!

Because we stayed home all weekend, I got so much done around the house. I got my kitchen organized, gathered up the rest of the stuff for our upcoming yard sale, cleaned out the fish tank and got it ready to put new fish in, cleaned the house and did all the laundry. It's amazing how good you feel when you get things accomplished. That's not say that we weren't happy to leave this morning, but it feels good to get so much marked off my to do list.

As far as the sleeping arrangements are going...he is going to bed by himself now. If he wakes up I just take him back into his bed and he goes back to sleep. He still wakes up in the middle of the night, and that will be the next thing that we take care of.

The other day I was walking through the grocery store and I saw some teenage boys walking behind their mom. I had a realization....I'm going to have one of those one of these days. I'm going to be the mom of a teenage boy. Can't say I'm looking forward to that stage. It's just hard for me to picture myself as having a teenage son.....hmmmmm, I wonder what Luke will be like.
Winter will be here before we know it. I hate winter and I hate the cold. I have been dreading this and dreading this. I have set a goal for myself this winter. I am going to make myself go outside!!! We are going to bundle up and play outside, play in the snow and go for walks. I think this will help make the cold months go by faster and it will brighten our spirits. And, I know that some people made lists of the things they wanted to do during summer and I think I am going to make a list of things for Luke and I to do this winter. I already have some ideas and when I get it finished, I'll post it here. This will help us to keep busy and give of things to look forward to.

So, what is on your minds???
