Hey guys!!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend, I know we did!!
We had Luke's 2nd birthday party on Saturday (his birthday isn't until Wednesday) It was a blast, Luke had so much fun. He is getting to the age where he can actually play the games and have a good time!!
On friday, I made Luke's cake
I bought the edible image from ebay, used Wilton icing coloring to color the icing and m&m's and sprinkles to decorate!!
We did something special last year and I wanted to make it a tradition. It's really fun......
I wrote a little letter, saying that Luke was two and he was letting this balloon go to see how far it goes. I asked whom ever would find it to mail it back (I put a stamped envelope inside as well) and let us know where they found it. I stuck all this in a plastic baggie and tied balloons to it. Then Luke let it go!! We never got anything back last year but that doesn't mean that it may be out in the woods somewhere waiting to be found!! I hope we get this one back soon!!
These are the balloons that we had for decorations. I got these from ebay also!! The round one isn't mylar or latex, it almost feels like a real ball!!
I love this picture!! Luke at how much fun Luke is having!! That is my brother and his girlfriend to the left and our cousin Holly to the right!
Luke had lots of family and friends there to help him celebrate!! In the background you can see Papaw being ornery with the water balloons....he is the biggest kid of them all!!
The first game that we played was a sponge game. You take four buckets, fill two up with the same amount of water, split the kids into two teams and they have to take turns dunking their sponge in the bucket of water, running to the empty bucket, squeeze the water out into the bucket and run back and pass the sponge onto the next person in line. Whichever team gets more water into their bucket wins!!!
Here my mom is helping Luke play the game, he loved it!!!
The next game that we played was the basic same principle but only your not using sponges, you hold a balloon between your knees and run up, touch the bucket and run back and pass on the balloon to the next person. Luke pooped out on this game!
We played two other games, a water balloon toss and a guessing game. We filled up a big glass jar with smarties and the kids had to guess how many smarties were in the jar, whoever guessed right, won the jar with the smarties!! That's a kid favorite too!!
Luke got so many nice gifts!! I'm not sure why he had such a sour face in this one!!
I had to show you the look on his face when he got his undies!! He didn't want to put them down! It was Hilllllarrriousss!!
I got him a cozy coupe, I swear he would sleep in that thing if I would let him!!
Luke blew out his candles all on his own this year!!
At first glance you would think that my brother was fishing....not quite...he decided to tie some balloons on the end of the fishing line and fly the balloons....yep, that's my brother!!
Cruisin in the cozy coupe with cake on your face....now that's the life!!!!!
